On The Green Festival is our micro festival of all the things we are so passionate about here at the Whistler, but don't have the space to do in our cosy we pub, so once a year we take it out door to our huge front garden, Glasgow Green.
Glasgow Green, G1 5PU / Opening times: 2pm - 10pm
Saturday 24th -
Sunday 25th May 2025
Now in it's second year, On The Green Festival is a celebration of everything we love and do here at The Whistler all throughout the year - great music of multiple genres combined with amazing food from some of our best friends kitchens, all in our beautiful Dear Green space where we can party with friends and neighbours. It's a chance for families of all ages to enjoy all of these things, right here in the heart of Glasgow.
This year we are taking things up a level with the introduction of a main stage big enough for live bands and dj's, local and from further afield. Similar to last years fest, we will be theming each day with a particular genre of music and programming the best grass roots acts alongside some amazing international acts. Saturday will be everything Funk, soul & disco. Sunday plays host to some of the best local Country & Americana acts with a star studded headliner to create lasting hoedown memories on Greendyke Street.
When it comes to food, we take things just as serious as we believe it’s as important entertaining your taste buds just as much as your ears.
On The Green Festival is for everyone. Mum, dad, kids & the dog.

DEEP FRIED SUNSHINE
Deep Fried Sunshine, the 5 piece live country pop act featuring long time collaborators Christian Fleetwood and Dan Hawkins, are a blend of Laurel Canyon's iconic West Coast jangle sound, reinterpreted through the lens of Glaswegian Power pop. Fleetwood explains, growing up in Glasgow in the late '90s, I was immersed in a music scene influenced (to me at least) by a lot of classic Western sounds, yet sharpened by the edgier, more lyrically stark realities of people who lived under Thatcher's Britain in the '80s. It was this contrast that always fascinated me and I wanted to add my own voice to that kind of soundscape.
